We are now accepting ads for the Spring Journal, which will be distributed at the June 4th Spring Sports meeting. Journals are a great way to support SHS athletics and give a personalized shout out to your athlete. JV and Freshman teams are not included in the SHS Yearbook, so the journal is especially important to these athletes as a remembrance of the season. Click HERE to place your ad. Welcome to the Scarsdale Maroon and White Website!
Maroon and White is celebrating its 52nd year as the parent booster organization supporting athletics, physical education, and student health at SHS and SMS. Our goals are to promote school spirit and to fundraise.
M&W sponsored school spirit events scheduled for first part of the 2018-2019 school year include:
- Raider Pride Week - September 23-29, if you have a Raider Pride “S” sign, please display it during this week!
- Fall Awards Dinner - November 14. Please check out the M&W Fall Sports Spirit Video that was played at the dinner. Over 710 athletes, parents, coaches and administrators attended! M&W Fall Sports Spirit Video
- Kari Pizzitola Holiday Basketball Tournament- December 6 & 8
- Winter Awards Dinner - March 12. 450 students participated in Scarsdale athletics this winter. 190 (42%) were scholar athletes with 2nd quarter grade averages of 90% or better! Between fall and winter, 52% of all SHS students participated in a sport. View highlights of the season: M&W Winter Sports Spirit Video
Your support enables us to provide funds to purchase necessary equipment for the high school and middle school athletic teams and physical education programs not covered by the current year school budget. We have recently donated $100,000 to the construction of the new SHS fitness center. In addition, we have supported our athletes through the recent purchases of lacrosse helmets, field scoreboards, wrestling mats, new gymnastic equipment, hurdles for track and field, as well as, bleachers for the Middle School and Supply Fields.
There are two ways to support Maroon and White:
1) Become a member! There are a many levels of membership and all support is welcome and appreciated! Please use this LINK.
2) Place an advertisement in the Maroon and White Journal! The journal is published 3 times during the school year ad distributed at the fall & winter sports banquets and spring sports picnic. In addition to being a critical part of Maroon and White's fundraising efforts, the journal is also a wonderful keepsake for SHS athletes. Freshman and JV teams are not represented in the SHS yearbook, so the journal is especially meaningful to these athletes. Click HERE to place your ad.
